Minneapolis is an economically powerful city in the state of Minnesota. It is one of the largest cities in the USA, with a population of 410,939 according to the 2015 estimate from the U.S. Census. In terms of housing, this city is estimated to have around 166,824 households right now. The 2010 U.S. Census Report of this city showed that the two largest ethnic groups are Whites and African Americans, with Whites representing about 64 percent and African Americans representing 19 percent of the community.

The drivers of this city’s economy and industry include health care, trucking services, commerce, finance, and insurance. Some powerful corporations that choose this city as their headquarters include U.S. Bancorp, Target, and Xcel Energy.

For people who love music, theater, or art, this city has plenty to see and do. Perhaps the most famous theatrical venue in this thriving city is the Guthrie Theater. This theater, which was founded in 1963, is well known for producing some of the finest interpretations of the classics and contemporary plays. There are actually three theaters in this space, and the staff at the Guthrie Theater host backstage tours for those interested in taking in this historic theater from a different angle.

Art lovers must visit the Minneapolis Institute of Art. There are over 80,000 works of art to behold here spanning 4,000 years of history. People will find all kinds of celebrated pictures, sculptures, drawings, and paintings from diverse locations including Asia, Africa, and Europe.

For those who have a bit of Swedish blood in them, it might be interesting to visit the American Swedish Institute. Here guests can learn all about Swedish culture and immigration into the USA, as well as taste an authentic Swedish meal in the institute’s restaurant. People visiting this institute will also get to tour the Swan Turnblad Mansion, which was completed on this site in 1910.

Of course, this city has many other things to offer those who are not art buffs. For example, any sports enthusiast will probably want to head over to Target Field. This downtown baseball park is the home of the Minnesota Twins baseball team. This stadium is quite new in the MLB, hosting its first baseball game in 2010. Although it is new, or perhaps because its newness, Target Field has been praised by many sports commentators as the greatest baseball stadium in the USA.
